Joe Mazza is a Denver-based multimedia storyteller, guitarist and music director. Born outside of Detroit and raised in the fertile soil of the Midwest, Joe studied guitar at the University of Miami and was formed by the diverse music and musicians of that city. While in Miami, he performed with artists of different genres including tours with Puerto Rican international pop star Chayanne. After relocating to Nashville, Joe worked as a producer and touring/recording guitarist, working with both independent artists and international publishing companies while going on the road with artists like country music’s Little Big Town, RnB Gospel singer Nicole C. Mullen, and many others. His travels as a musician have taken him from Royal Albert Hall in London, to the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, to the Quinta Vergara Amphitheater in Viña Del Mar, Chile, and local venues across the United States.
Together with his wife, singer/songwriter and social activist Theresa Mazza, they run REANIMATE, a multimedia production, performance and artistic experience company. REANIMATE is committed to telling stories through podcast, video and music production, as well as inspiring artists (that’s all of us!) to explore their innate creativity through live events.
They also contributes to the vibrant local music scene alongside local musicians John Common, Eben Grace, Amberly Chalberg, René Moffatt and others. A passionate, collaborative creator, Joe is an active theater designer, offering sound design, musical direction and supervision as well as consulting with and coaching cast members to help portray accurate musical representations on stage. His theater credits include Music Producer for FunikiJam World Music, a children’s theater company based in New York City and Orlando, cast member for Raised On Ronstadt (Local Theater), Music Director for Denver Stories (Curious Theater), You Enjoy Myself, and pit band for The Henry Awards.
Joe and Theresa are always interested in working with anyone who wants to make meaningful, inspired art. Their son JJ is a Downbeat Award-winning jazz drummer who is up and coming in the New York and Denver scene and beyond.
